Program Schedules
Virginia Preschool Initiative Programs (VPI)
The VPI classes attend school from 8:50 a.m.- 3 p.m.
Special Education Programs
Morning Class-based students (2 years old) attend school on Tuesday and Thursday or Wednesday and Friday from 9:20am - 12:40pm
Morning Class-based students (3 to 5 years old) attend school daily from 9:20am - 12:40pm
Afternoon Class-based students (3 to 5 years old) attend school daily from 12:40pm - 4pm
Resource students receive home visits per IEP specification. The day(s) and time(s) will be coordinated between the teacher and parents.
Washington-Reid follows the PWCS calendar with regard to holiday closings, closings for teacher professional development days, and school closings due to inclement weather.
Preschool Parents/Guardians Inclement Weather Guide
When delays or early closings of school are announced, this automatically alters the preschool schedules. Parents/guardians should follow the Prince William County Schools procedures related to school closings and delays.
Two-Hour Delayed Opening
- Morning preschool and full-day preschool students should expect their bus to arrive at the bus stop two hours later than usual.
- Morning preschool and full-day preschool walking students should arrive at school two hours later than the regular schedule.
- Only morning preschool students will be dismissed one hour later than the regular schedule. Full-day preschool students will be dismissed at the regular time.
- Afternoon preschool student buses will arrive one hour later than usual and will be dismissed at the regular time.
One-Hour Early Closing
- Morning and full-day preschool students will be dismissed one hour earlier than the regular schedule.
- There will be no afternoon preschool.
Two-Hour Early Closing
- Morning and full-day preschool students will be dismissed two hours earlier than the regular schedule.
- There will be no afternoon preschool.
